Early morning at The Canyon in Guerneville

Travel & lodging

Getting to Guerneville, and where to stay.

Guerneville is small, rural, and beautiful. Book early, assume a car will make life easier, and tell us your accommodation plan when you RSVP.

Where to look

Stay close if you can, but there are options.

Memorial Day weekend can book up early around the Russian River. These areas are a good place to start, with specific recommendations below.

Guerneville

Closest to the party and easiest if you want to be near the river, redwoods, and The Canyon.

Monte Rio

Close by and quieter, with cabins and river places often worth checking.

Forestville

Convenient between Santa Rosa and Guerneville, especially if you want an easier drive in and out.

Sebastopol

More restaurants and town amenities, but a longer drive back after the party.

Santa Rosa

More hotel options and easier airport access, with less of the redwoods feel.

Healdsburg

A wine-country option if you are making a trip of it; likely further away and more expensive.

Nearby lodging

Specific places to stay in and around Guerneville.

These are real recommendations — book early as Memorial Day weekend fills up fast.

Getting around

Renting a car is strongly recommended.

Public transport, taxis, and rideshare can be limited around Guerneville, especially late. The roads are scenic and winding, so allow more time than the mileage suggests.

Address privacy

We will share the exact address after RSVP.

The party is at The Canyon in Guerneville. We are keeping the home address off the public site and will send practical arrival and parking details to confirmed guests.

Airports

Pick the flight that works, then plan the drive.

STS (Santa Rosa) is the closest option if the flights work. SFO and OAK are good alternatives. Rent a car unless you already have a better plan with other guests.

STS

Santa Rosa

Closest and easiest if the flights work. About 30 minutes from Guerneville with light traffic.

SFO

San Francisco

A likely choice for UK and international arrivals. Build in at least 90 minutes for the drive north, more with traffic.

OAK

Oakland

Often a practical alternative to SFO depending on flights, car rental, and traffic. Allow 90–120 minutes drive time.

SJC

San Jose

Possible, but usually a longer drive at 2+ hours. Treat it as a fallback unless the flight is much better.

Camping at The Canyon

Possible, rustic, and something we need to plan.

The Canyon is water scarce, so camping numbers matter. This is not meant to put anyone off; it just helps us make sure the setup is sensible.

Camping is possible on the property by a dry creek, but it is rustic rather than a serviced campsite.

Please tell us in the RSVP if you hope to camp so we can plan space, water, and facilities.

Basic camping facilities will be provided, showers may be limited, and fires will not be allowed because of fire bans.

Toilets, drinking water, and basic power will be available. Please let us know if you plan to bring a camper van so we can plan space.

Nearby things to do

Redwoods, river, coast, and a few easy local ideas.

The party is the main event. These are here if you are arriving early, staying longer, or wondering what Guerneville is like beyond The Canyon.

Further afield

If you are making a bigger trip of it.

These are ideas for days before or after the party, not organized plans and definitely not things you need to do on Sunday.

Notes for UK visitors

It is a long way. We know.

Driving is on the right, automatic rental cars are standard, and California distances can feel bigger than they look on a map. Evenings can be cool even after warm days, so pack a layer.

RSVP reminder

Please RSVP by the end of October 2026 and include your accommodation plan, especially if you are thinking about camping at The Canyon.
